Colorado Project ASTRO-GEO (CPAG)

If you are a teacher, an astronomer (amateurs welcome), or work in an Earth science or space-related field, please consider joining CPAG!

About Colorado Project ASTRO-GEO (CPAG)

K-12 teachers, scientists and engineers are invited to participate in Colorado Project ASTRO-GEO (CPAG), a coalition of organizations dedicated to providing hands-on earth and space science education. By partnering volunteer scientists and engineers with K-12 teachers for a minimum of four sessions per academic year, CPAG facilitates in-class and after-school science enrichment activities.

    National Project ASTRO

Colorado Project ASTRO-GEO is a member of the national Project ASTRO program developed by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. It operates in 13 sites across the country, pairing astronomers with teachers for hands-on, inquiry-based classroom activities. Through 500 partnerships, it reaches over 20,000 students annually. For more information, see the national Project ASTRO website.

Project ASTRO materials are geared toward 4th through 9th grades, and are standards-based. Project ASTRO activities are also available in Spanish.

Family ASTRO projects can be done by parents and kids together at home.

At a CPAG workshop, scientists and teachers stretch to simulate the Earth tilted and rotating on its axis.
